Real-Time Trials at Parrot Printing

John Parrot, the President and third-generation Owner of Parrot Printing, recently accepted a contract to produce 25,000 double-sided, solid-color yard signs, a job that required a significant level of automation, capacity and time management.

For those of you keeping count at home, that means that Parrot Printing was on the hook for 150,000 square feet of signage, all of which needed to uphold the commitment to quality Parrot Printing has come to be known for.

Before purchasing the TruFire, this was exactly the kind of job Parrot Printing would have had to decline. With other printing solutions, the company’s print capacity would have been far too limited to produce that much signage in any reasonable time frame, especially without sacrificing quality.

However, thanks to the workflow software and proficiency of the DigiTech TruFire, Parrot Printing was not only able to accept this job but also complete it on an aggressive and impressive timeline.

With printing, loading and unloading time included, Parrot consistently produced quality boards at a rate of 50-60 per hour. It was estimated that the job would require 189 liters of ink, but it actually only required 148 when all was said and done.

By the time the job was completed, Parrot Printing had printed the 150,000 square feet in just 13 days while running just two four-hour shifts per day.
